Disney Is Updating Its Controversial Jungle Cruise Ride
The Jungle Cruise, a person of Disney’s most infamous concept park points of interest, is getting a important revamp.
Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney Earth in Florida and Disneyland in California will the two be affected by the modifications, which purpose to “reflect and worth the range of the planet close to us,” Disney reported on Monday, Jan. 25 in an announcement that will come right after issues that the ride, originally designed in 1955, is racially insensitive.
In a online video posted to the official Disney Parks Site, Imagineer Kevin Lively explained some of the updates to come—including tweaks to the storyline—but Walt Disney Imagineering Artistic Portfolio Government Chris Beatty outlined the distinct force for range in an interview with D23.
“This is not a re-envisioning of the whole attraction. It really is the Jungle Cruise you know and enjoy, with the skippers even now leading the way, and at the exact time, we’re addressing the damaging depictions of ‘natives,'” Beatty said. “So which is just one of the scenes we’re going to go in and adjust.”
